Spicy Honey Chicken


to marinate
  • 4 chicken tight ( skin prefer on)
  • 1 tsp numeric powder
  • 1-2 tsp curry powder
  • salt for taste

other ingredients prepare

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 cm fresh cut ginger
  • 1 tsp chili paste (I used simple chili from a bottle or you can always use home made chili or store brought)
  • 3 tbs ketchup (bottle one)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbs turmeric powder
  • 5 tbsp water
  • 1 lime,juiced
  • 1 large onion sliced Julianne
  • cooking oil for deep fry



  • combine the turmeric powder, curry powder salt with water to mix into a thickish slurry.
  • coat the chicken pieces evenly and deep fry the chicken pieces in large wok or pan until cook through and golden brown. Put aside. Throw off most of the oil from the wok or pan leaving bout 2-3 tablespoon behind
  • pound og grate garlic and ginger into a paste
  • sauce the past in the 2-3 tablespoon of the oil left behind in the wok or pan until fragrant
  • sautéed the onion, until changes the color to translucent, then add the tomato sauce, chili paste, curry powder and honey and stir to combine. Add water to loosen up the mixture and salt to taste. Add the deep fried chicken pieces and stir to mix so the chicken pieces are well coated with the sauce. Let it simmer for at least 5-10 minutes until the chicken absorbed some of the sauce. Add the lime juice in the end
  • adjust the water, if it gets  a little dry
